SAG Awards® Ceremony will be broadcast live on Netflix’s YouTube Channel, YouTube.com/Netflix, Sunday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT

 

LOS ANGELES (February 8, 2023) – Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) and Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) have been named Ambassadors for the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®. The SAG Awards® will be broadcast live on Netflix’s YouTube channel, YouTube.com/Netflix, Sunday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

 

SAG Awards Ambassadors are actors who exemplify the utmost values of the profession and are positive role models for the next generation of performers. These individuals actively use their platform to advocate for humanitarian and public service endeavors. In this special role, Gentry and Richardson will present on the show, and provide viewers with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the ceremony. The Ambassadors will also participate in various SAG Awards pre-show events, including the exclusive SAG Awards Ambassador Dinner presented by Campari®, the Official Spirits Sponsor of the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®.  The dinner will take place on Thursday, February 16 at Michelin-starred Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant in Hollywood by SAG Awards Executive Chef Curtis Stone.

 

Antonia Gentry currently stars as the titular character, “Ginny,” in the Netflix hit original series, Ginny & Georgia, which premiered its second season on January 5, 2023. Season one debuted to a record viewership of 52 million subscribers, and season two topped the Netflix charts, with 180.5 million hours viewed in its first week on the streaming platform. Additionally, Gentry earned an MTV Movie & TV Award nomination in the category of “Best Breakthrough Performance” for her role in the first season. Previous credits include a supporting role in the Netflix film Candy Jar and a guest starring role in an episode of Netflix’s Raising Dion.  Gentry is a graduate of Emory University, where she majored in English and Creative Writing.  She was also a member of the Rathskellar Comedy Improv Group. Gentry is a mental health advocate as demonstrated in her participation in Mental Health America and IDONTMIND’s Our Future In Mind, mental health summit, which offered virtual training for students to learn mental health awareness and advocacy skills. Haley Lu Richardson has quickly emerged as one of the leading young actors of her generation. Richardson stars in the critically acclaimed second season of Mike White’s The White Lotus for HBO, opposite Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza. She also starred in Unpregnant, the first feature film for HBO MAX, which was released in 2020. Richardson first came to prominence with her breakthrough performance in Kogonada’s highly acclaimed Columbus, which premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. It was released as a special edition for The Criterion Collection. Richardson stars opposite Colin Farrell in After Yang, which premiered at Cannes. Recently, she can be seen in David Siegel and Scott McGehee's Montana Story opposite Owen Teague, which premiered at TIFF and she can next be found in ACE Entertainment's upcoming feature for Netflix, Love At First Sight, with Dexter Fletcher and Ben Hardy. Other notable film credits include Operation Finale for Chris Weitz, Support The Girls for director Andre Bujalski, and The Chaperone for Julian Fellowes, in which she memorably plays a young Louise Brooks. Richardson’s role in Five Feet Apart, the hit motion picture for CBS Films, prompted her to become a supporter of the Claire’s Place Foundation, which provides heart-felt assistance to the families of children and to individuals diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
