DEBBIE REYNOLDS: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Carrie. I thank Carrie and my son Todd that was, and Catherine is here, my granddaughter Billie Lourd is here tonight. I’m so excited, you know. My favorite picture – well, it was a while ago, was I did a movie – a few… [laughs] it was “Singing in the Rain.” [applause]

And I want to thank the Screen Actors Guild for awarding me with this tonight. It’s very unexpected and, you know, I’ve been in the business now 66 years, and so I’m very excited to be here.

And I had great teachers, you know, in L.B. Mayer – well, let’s not mention Gene Kelly, I mean, really, the best in the whole world, I had the best. And I was very excited. Of course, my favorite movie was “Singing in the Rain” and – well, I did mention it. I said…? Yeah. And I had a good time making that picture, wearing myself out. And of course I had a wonderful hairdo in that picture. [laughter]

Some of you may not remember this, but I had a bun… At the back of my head I had a big bun. An ugly bun at the back of my head. So, I warned my daughter, Carrie, who had just gotten a part in the picture, you know, Princess Leia, in “Star Wars.” [laughter] [applause] I said, “Well, Carrie, be careful of any weird hairdos.” [laughter] So, luckily, George gave her two buns. [laughter] Thank you, George.

God gave us talent, so we’re very fortunate, we all are. What we do best, believe in it, and of course, we do that, of course. And my favorite movie was “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” And I had a lot of fun doing that. [applause] Thank you. In that movie I got to sing – a wonderful film – a song called “I Ain’t Down Yet.” Well, I ain’t. Thank you all very much for this wonderful award. [applause]
