Award Acceptance Speech:
The biggest reason I am honored is that I think probably the most meaningful award, at least to me, is an award where you’re voted on or…or celebrated by your peers.

And that’s what this seems to be. So, I couldn’t be more honored.

As for the award itself, I feel mixed and strange about something that says lifetime achievement when I think my life is still going, and I think of my work as a work in progress.

So it’s kind of hard to know how to be with this, accept to be flattered, and to be honored and to thank you. And, to say that I will accept this in the spirit in which it’s given and use it as support to keep going.

Thank you.
