Film and Television Fans Have a Second Chance to Bid on SAG Awards Red Carpet Bleacher Seats Now Thru Jan. 15
Auction Will Benefit the SAG Foundation’s Children’s Literacy and Emergency Relief Programs
LOS ANGELES (January 6, 2012) – The Screen Actors Guild Awards® online auction to benefit the SAG Foundation is offering a second Red Carpet Fan Bleacher Seat auction at http://www.sagawards.org/auction now through Sunday, Jan. 15 at 6:00 pm. This auction series features 90 seats from which fans can see their favorite stars walk the SAG Awards red carpet, take pictures, and request autographs. Up for bid during the Red Carpet Bleacher Auction are 15 sets of two seats, 14 sets of four seats and 4 sets of single seats.
Select special packages include a SAG Awards Backstage Tour during rehearsals and two tickets to the bleacher seats; SAG Awards logo’ed Flip cameras auctioned with sets of two and four seats and a “Hollywood Makeover” for two provided by Hollyscoop.
Proceeds from the Screen Actors Guild Awards Auctions will benefit the SAG Foundation to help sustain their award winning children's literacy programs: BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), reading to over 100,000 children monthly in classrooms and hospitals nationwide, and Storyline Online, reaching an average of 1 million views globally each month. The auction also supports the Foundation's Catastrophic Health Fund and emergency services, the Actors Center, and the video preservation of the creative legacy of professional actors. Next up after the Bleacher Seat auction will be the SAG Awards Ceremony Auction, from Jan. 26 to Feb. 5 that will revolve around the nominees, presenters, sponsors and media. The Ceremony Auction will offer packages and experiences from nominated ensembles, the hot entertainment news outlets, including “E! News,” “Entertainment Tonight” and “Extra.” Also up for bid will be SAG Awards memorabilia including tote bags, hats and this year’s production team gift. Additional auction items will be announced throughout January.
18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® honoring the outstanding film and television performances of 2011 will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT).
